The Poland syndrome is a complex of malformations whose origin are unknown, characterised by the absence of chest muscle, possibly associated with symbrachydactyly and hypoplasy of the upper limbs.
It may also coexist with other rib cage defects. The malformation is always monolateral, mostly localised at the right and found more often in males. As regards the chest area we may operate simply on the front of axillary artery or be a complete hypoplasy of the whole area.
